Samuel Baumel

Sam makes movies happen by emailing a lot and calling people on the phone.

After graduating from NYU’s business school, Sam bought a bicycle and moved to Brooklyn. Sam has produced features in Nashville, Iowa, Detroit and even New York City.  Over the past two years he has taken pictures while traveling in Korea, China, Mexico and Europe as well as while driving in a big circle around the USA.  Recently, Sam's been working on producing an adaptation of the Lilith myth through dance, a documentary about people who eat cheese made from human milk and a music video for a song called "Onion's Milk".

Sam likes gestures, chuckles, tears, smirks and candid conversation.  He likes it even better when these things are captured on film.

He enjoys half birthday parties, grooming his facial hair, making smoothies with the blender that his grandmother bought him from Dillards and he has a tattoo of a freckle.

Wesley Wingo

When Wesley was growing up, the first vocation he was ever called to was that of comic strip artist.  He soon discovered he couldn't draw very well.  The rest is history.

Since graduation from NYU Film/Television, he has been building a little fort for himself in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn with his girlfriend and dog in hopes of riding out the zombie apocalypse.

Wesley has worked as a writer and director of films in New York, Los Angeles, Milan, Prague, Atlanta, Savannah, and Hogansville. He is a member in questionable standing at the Writer's Guild of America.

He enjoys dancing, electric blankets, pecan pie, a fine bourbon, American Western iconography, and has fired a 9 mm.

Gravity Sleeps is a creative collaboration founded by Wesley Wingo and Samuel Baumel that spans nearly ten years.
